Blankey

I am currently hunting the World Wide Webernet everyday lately to find me a real Granny style, crochet, tassely coverlet to go in my bedroom. How pretty are these babies!!! If any of you lovers know where I can score me one...or even the proper term to narrow my search results down, I would greatly appreciate it. So Far the best I could find have all been on EBay and it's slim pickins' out there...slim, slim pickins'

  1. I'm a fan of those too. Hands down, Etsy, would be your best bet. I've seen tons of them on there. Go to the vintage section. They can be under coverlets, bedspreads, chenille. Good luck!

  5. also, there is an online crocheting and knitting community called ravelry.com. you could find a pattern you like and then commission(bribe)someone to make it for you!

    that's what i'd do...

    man, now i have to go look. :)

    It's a tablecloth, but might work or lead you in the right direction. Looks like that shop might have some other options as well. That was pretty much the first one I found by typing in "lace quilt" on Etsy so if you do some digging you might find your gem.

  10. using the term crocheted bedspread on ebay brings up a ton of results. Unfortunately, you have to weed out the patterns but there are still quite a bit of lovely items.

  11. I see these all the time at a vendor I frequent at a flea market. She always has great colors too. I'm sure etsy is a good bet though as the others suggested!

  12. Have you tried searching for chenille popcorn coverlets? They might be too heavy for your So-Cal setting, but you might turn up more. Good luck, Amber!

  13. A knitted coverlet is sometimes called a counterpane. This is a very old term, and I'm not sure how many folks today use that term! Happy hunting!

  17. Some of your images are actually chenille coverlets (or blankets) and not crochet blankets. So that might help get you closer to what you are envisioning.

  18. I would try searching chenille coverlets or bedspreads. I have one similar to some of these but it was grandma's and I can't part with it. I wonder if a lot of people hold onto them for sentimental reasons.
