I know this stuff is trendy...but I ain't mad at it.
I still use all of it in most of my projects in some way or another, and I still never met a room adorned with some of these trends, that I didn't like.
2. DE GOURNAY
3. SUZANI
4.CHEVRON
5.OTOMI
Ask me in 5 months how I feel about all of it and we will see..
BTW, is anyone else ready for the next big trend?
I think it's 80's southwestern style...my humble predictions

hahahahah.....gota love "mauve."
ReplyDeleteGreat list and agree with it all and I hope your prediction does not ring true!
ReplyDeleteI am still loving all those trends. The De Gournay is surely a classic. I have been loving southwestern pieces (think Double R Ranch) and had forgotten how that look can go so wrong. xoxo
ReplyDeleteif the southwest aims for a takeover, i'm out of the game! you made me laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteI thought I escaped that when I moved away from Scottsdale.
You hit them all on the head. great picks.
ReplyDeletehaha. I still love them all.
ReplyDeleteSweet, I have a friend whose house I CAN'T WAIT to feature on my blog when 80's southwestern comes back. She was terra cotta before terra cotta was cool.
ReplyDeleteNow that's funny!!
ReplyDeletedude, the 80s southwestern style is totally already in! maybe not in mauve and seafoam, but let's face it, both of those colors are already lurking...i must say...i'm not scared of 'em! also, i bought a hunter green shirt the other day...which means im totally eating my words about hating hunter green and burgundy forever...hah!
ReplyDeletei agree with all of your things that are trendy but you still like..though, i bet in about a year, we'll be singin' a different tune!
with navajo blankets and rugs everywhere, southwest sure does look poised for a comeback....Maybe my dad can get out his old bolo ties (though I think Newell wrote about trends and pointed to bolos as one thing he will truly never revist...we shall see)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Melissa and I am a chevron addict. My foyer floor, our master bathroom floor, the office floor, a shower curtain in the boys bath...I can't stop, HA!
ReplyDeletethat last pic looks like every townhouse in Scottsdale, AZ! although i am loving mint green and nudey peach right now so maybe i am on the tip of the trend.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it. I do still love all of those prints. And I am in big trouble if the mauve-a-licioius southwestern style makes a comeback!
ReplyDeleteI have family members that have the bastardized Southwest Style... I call it "Love Affair With All Things Wolf-Related." Seriously, not an ounce of Native American on my dad's side and everyone's houses are plastered with Native American Mother Goddesses and wolves. Have I mentioned my stepmother is a German immigrant? I feel like these people should know better.
ReplyDeleteI, however, am having a love affair with chevron. Which is a-ok in my book.
My favourites are definitely the DeGournay and ikat...I think I'd plaster my whole house in both if I could and I think you're right about the new trend...not sure how I feel about that one.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog through Pinterest and I am O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D!!!! -new follower here!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of it. Good in moderation or when used in new ways, especially.
ReplyDeleteMy pillows are these 80's looking flamestitch. I always describe them as Kelly Wearstler meets southwest 80's. So yea, I'm gonna agree with you on that trend ;)
i aint mad at any of that either. except the 80s. because i'm learning that it usually comes with some serious wood paneling.........
ReplyDeleteChassity was just telling me about how fabulous your blog is and I am so glad I found it. I could not agree more with your 5 picks. I seriously want to ikat and chevron my whole house right now. Look forward to blog stalking you and reading more! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHoly cow I swear I have seen that room before...d'javue
ReplyDeleteHahah! If I could pick the worst type of trend it would be 90s Santa Fe. I want to barf just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up. Where did you find that picture?
ReplyDeletethe last one cracked me up. I still love all the trends as well. we internet sleuths need to chill on saying when things are in and out, we're "over it" before any one else knows people were into it.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks. Love the photos!!

Unable to take my attention off from DE GOURNAY, catchy and trendy.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope not 80's in any form :)
ReplyDeleteStill haven't tired of any of those "trends." Great photos!
ReplyDeleteNice work! I like all the bed designs and you managed them so well.
ReplyDeleteYou're kidding about the SW, right?
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, in total agreement.
Oh lord if that shit comes back I'm quitting. What next locust.
ReplyDeleteExcellent information and facts. Only real difficulty I was basically receiving was viewing the pics. No idea exactly why.
